This blog will act as an online journal for my class to share their experiences as they participate in a sustainability project. First, they will recycle an old t-shirt to create a reusable shopping bag. Second, they will use their t-shirt bag instead of a disposable bag every chance they get for the month of October. Each time they use the bag, they will record their use on this blog. At the end of the month, we will see how many disposable bags they saved.

derricks bag blog 2
Hey ! I had to tell the class that every store is not allowing you into the stores with a bag. I dont know if it is a black thing or what. I recently went into a korean grocery store to get some vegetables and seasonings for my roast that I had planned to cook that night. I wanted to cook dinner for some family that was coming over that night. I was in a great mood that whole day. I told my son that I was going to the store to get some things and I would be right back. I went to this korean store because they have the freshest vegetables and spices. I brought along tmy bag and was stopped at the front door. I told them that I was doing a school project and I wanted to use my bag for carrying my goods. They told me no! I asked how come? They would not give me an answer. So I decided not to give them my business and left. I decided to go to Giants and get my food supplies.MY ROAST WAS BANGING! BANGING! That means it came out great. How strange you can't use own bag. I wonder why because it makes no sense at all. For store, saving plastic bag is good. Well I guess it's not a big deal to them anyway. I should check Korean store near by my town.

ReplyDeleteThat's weird man I never experienced that or ran into that problem yet. I think you did the right thing in leaving that store. I would have done the same thing and went to another place. That is how you lose costumers if your are a store like that.
