On my way home from bowling my mother stopped to pick up some groceries and I brought my bag along and so far I saved on 2 plactic bags.

I think i saved 6 bags this time period.My job is now selling bags... that are recyclable..I actually brought one and i will start using it. Im happy to help the world by not using as many plastic and or paper bags. I encourage other people to use recycle bags.

the bag

i let my mom use my bag when she came to work.She went through my store(davids natural market) and picked up some cameo apples..and used my bag. She thought it was a good idea. Were doing something right.

well, i went to target to get some lotion and i used the bag. Its easy to put in my tote bag and carry around. No one looks at me weird because most people have their own bag as well... i hate that stores give out bags like its not something that we shouldnt use...

The final post!

I saved about nine bags within this whole month. The hardest thing about using the t-shirt bags is that you have to remember to bring it when you go out. If I didn't forget so much about it, I know I would have saved a lot more bags. What I gained from this experience is that even though we did a small change, we have still help protect the Earth one bag at a time. I think this experience has helped me make a long-term behavioral change. I say that because with all the information that I have learned about becoming eco-friendly, I want to save Mother Earth. I have passed my information onto my family and they have made t-shirt bags too!

Final Blog

I saved 7 bags this mounth. My biggest challange was to remember to take it with me into the stores. The esayes part was when i could just put my things in while shopping. From doing this i gained an ecofriendly and going green experience. I feel like i just saved the planet and made all of us live longer. I think this experience has helped me make long terms goals to use reuable bags in the future.

by doing this project i haved saved a total of 5 or 6 bags. i felt really good by doing this because by having a bag u can use multipile times you save a lot of plastic bags which is good.

During this project I save around 5 bag. I feel that I did a good thing by not using plastic bags this month. Going shopping, picking up random things, and other everyday things. This was fun and will keep using my bag.

During this experience i saved roughly 7 plastic bags. 1 at cvs, getting supplies, 1 at the att store getting my new phone 2 at gamestop getting a couple games, 1 at the grocery store and 2 at qdoba, the hardest part was bringing the bags with you because all you really need is your keys and wallet and your good to go but bringing a bag was a little to much going somewhere, the easiest part was making the bags. One thing i learned from this experience was that Americans use to many bags and that we had to use more recyclable ones. Another thing i learned was being confident, because carrying around a bag that goes over your shoulder when your a male was quite the experience.

Matt C, Bag Last Post

I have saved approximately 9 bags during October. I used it for Lotte, Glossary store right next to Gas station, and CVS. Biggest challenge was bringing the bag. It's hard to remember to take the bag out. Also when I used it first time i felt a bit shame that I'm using 'different' bag. But it was fun after all. The easiest part was getting things a lot one at a time. The bag itself is pretty big and tough. It can hold like 24cokes at one time. I learned that using recycle bag is not that bad at all. It's large, looks special, and it's pretty comfortable to handle. Also I learned that using recycle bag is not that hard works. It's not that annoying to bringing, It's just hard to remember to bring. This experience taught me that even it looks small, when it you do same thing a lot it will going to be huge. Most people just saying that it's obvious but it's different when you see it with your own eyes. I think that is big experience.

i usually take my stuff to work in a little plastic bag because i don't want to get my purse dirty, but today i decided to try my home made bag, i saved a plastic bag but a lot of people made fun of my bad so i don't think i'll be taking it to work anymore.

Reasonable blog

While doing the bag reducing product is saved five plastic bags. I saved one at Best Buy for a Dvd, saved a one bag for three loaves of bread at Giant , and saved a bag at Eddies when getting dog food. The biggest challenge was trying to remember to bring the bag everywhere I went. It was also hard to pick when to bring the bag around. I also had trouble trying to pick out what product should go into my bag. The lesson I learned from this experience is planning because you had to plan what item should go into your bag and what products couldn’t for me. Another lesson I learned was reasonability to remember to take the bag when I went to the store. The experience made me take on short term behavior changes because I really don’t plan to do this in the future.

just got back from the amish market with my mom. i really learned a lot from that toxic project. a lot of it was a big surprise for me so i stayed away from most of the fruits and vegetables with a high toxicity level. anyway my mom has so many of her go green bags and all together i think we saved around 6 bags

i used my bag to go trick or treating, i didn't get very much candy, i think there might be an age limit on trick or treating. but i thought it was a good idea to use the bad instead of a pillow case. the handle are more convenient.

I saved almost 12 bags in one month.My biggest challenge was using my t-shirt bag anytime i wanted to buy something.People keep asking me why i am using the bag? until i tell them is for a school project.I also tell them my school is going green to save the environment.The easiest part about using my t-ship bag was the joy i always have when i used it to carry grocery or the cloths i bought.I felt i was doing something to save the environment.My experience from this, is trying as much as possible to save more bags in the future.I have become an advocate in my neighborhood to let more people save bags.This experience has helped me make a short term goal.My short term goal is to save as many bags as possible anytime i go shopping and to let other people know how to save reusable bags.

Matt C, Bag usage 4th CVS

I went to CVS yesterday, Oct 30th 10 for party with my friends. My friends were like "God, you're embarrassing," but yeah I used my bag anyway. One thing I noticed is that no one actually care about the bag. I thought people are like "That man is using a recycle bag, he must be doing his assignment," but no, they just don't care. I think people are overreacting to this thing because we didn't try it before. Anyway I bought 5 original Pringles and 1 pet of Coke and sprite. I think I saved like 3bags yesterday, this bag is absolutely huge and strong.

Julia saved a bag

So I went shopping with my mom today at Michaels. She bought a basket and some other stuff. The crazy women wanted to put the other stuff in a bag and I said wait I have my own bag. I pulled it put of my purse and was like "BAM". So I had the women put the stuff in my bag and then put that bag into the basket so we did not have to carry so much stuff. Yea I saved a bag!

Columbia Mall shopping.

I was at columbia mall today to buy some DVDs and movies.I put the DVD movies in my bag.One of the customers who i spoked to at the store decided to make a re-usable bag of her own next time she comes to buy something.

Today I went to bills music to get some more guitar cables and had my bag with me. I know so of the workers in the store and we started to talk about the bag and why I was using it.

Rite Aid

Today I went to to ride aid to go buy a couple of things. I had my bag on me and after the lady rung everything up i just sai can u drop them in my bag and she did. So i saved a bag today.

Mars usage

So today i had went to the store to buy some 2 bottles of syrup, 2 loafs of bread, and some little debbies. I got to the cashier and put my things in my bag and she ased me what that was and I tild her a bag i made for my class. She said" when I was in school we did nothing like that."

I went to korean store what I mentioned before, Lotte mart, today morning for buying some noodles(a.k.a ramen). I bought 5 shin ramen and 2 tuna can for my dinner today. I showed my bag to counter woman and she just put my stuffs in to my bags. I wonder why Korean stores don't give you any discount for plastic bag. I want that 30 sent.

Baltimore shopping

Just got back from Baltimore.I was at the Lexington market to buy some few things.I used my bag to carry the groceries and cloths i bought.I was given a 30 cent discount for every bag i carry.That was awesome.

Food shopping!

My family and I just came back from going food shopping, but if you ask me, it looks as if we brought the whole store! Since we had a big shopping spree today, we brought our old ikea bags and also a few bags that we reuse along with my bag. we saved maybe a million bags from giant!

So this week I went on a shopping spree. I went to Target, Oldnavy, and Payless. I saved a total of 4 bags. I did not remember my bag that we made in class but I had used another bag that I had bought this past summer in Germany.

Today I used the bag to put three loaves of bread. I left the store with my dad, then before we left I placed the three loaves of bread in my bag, and then went home.

qdoba today

i went to qdoba today ordered a gumbo to go..it was good when they pulled out their bag i said "wait"! i have my mickey mouse bag put it in here!.. the customers behind me gave me a judging look.. i was embarrassed and walked out.

I was at Wall Mart for grocery shopping with my aunt.All the items we bought went straight to my bag.Overall i saved 3 bags

Brittany - Saved a Bag at the Gap

I went to the Gap yesterday to get a pair of jeans and remembered to bring my reusable bag.  The sales person put the jeans in a disposable bag even though I told her that I had a reusable one so I had to remind her again.  I took the jeans out of the disposable bag and put them in my reusable bag.  It was great!

I finally saved a bag

Okay, so i finally used my bag. I had to go shopping for new work cloths but couldn't find the time so, yesterday after work i picked up a few things from Kohl's. I finally saved a bag!

Geting food at the mall

Today I had to say all day at school and take a test later that night. I got some fried rice. they did not givve me a bag. I had my bag with me so I put my food in my bag and now it smells like fried rice. there was a cop in the mall and he looked in my bag and just gave me a look. Cops should stop looking other peoples bags just because they use there own bag. But I saved a bag. YAY!

I work at Davids Natural Market and I'm a cashier. Everyone who comes in my line to check out always using there own bags. I always tell them i also have a bag that i made in my FYEX class to substitute the plastic bags that are given in grocery stores. I get a discount at work so, i just decided to use my bag that i made and grab some things at work to take home. I got some cool chap stick, candy, and something to drink. I actually like the bag idea and at work we ordered recycle bags that customers can buy. I will encourage my mother to buy one so she can start using it to shop. They are rather cute.

I was sooo hungry! My girlfriend took me out to eat =) Once again, they had looked at me weird. But! The cashier had asked me as if I was going green since my bag is green - I said yes and she said "go ahead girl!" Ha! That means we're not the only ones.

So today I went to wal-mart and bought a couple of things. I had my bag in my hand and some people were looking at me. So i got what i needed and the cashier started to put my things in the bag and i said " It's ok I have a bag already."

Matt C, Bag usage 2nd, Lotte & H-mart

Okay so Mr. Derrick had a strange experience that he could not use his own bag at Korean store. So I decided to check it out (even though there is no point to check different stores. May be it was Korean thing so I wanted to check). There is two Korean grocery stores. One is Lotte Mart and another is H-mart (also known as Han-a-rum Mart). First target was Lotte. I decided to buy 5 cans of tuna, Korean snack(also known as Han-Gwa. it is delicious to me, at least), and a pet of Coke. The answer was okay. You can use your bag in Korean stores. The lady who checked my stuffs said that it's quiet occur that young people like me using a recycle bag. I went to H-mart right after that and bought green tea ice cream which is my favorite. And yes, you can use your own bag in H-mart also. I think the reason why Mr. Derrick couldn't use his bag is about their English problem. It's not about racism. She might be get panic due to her lack of English ability, so she said just no. That is what I think, and hope you guys have a great day.

Karen - Yay Subway!

The other day my girlfriend and I went to get something to eat for breakfast before we went to chill with our friends, so we went to subway. We did not order anthing big so we both said we didn't need a bag for our food! The cashier looked at me odly when I placed our food in my bag but I didn't care. Yay subway!

Julia- Saved a bag at Target

I went to Target to buy an Oral B rechargeable toothbrush because Oral B is running a sale on them and I need a new toothbrush so I thought what the heck, I will get one. When I went to check out the girl asked me if I want a bag and I said No. I told her I had my own bag and she thought that was cool. I told her that it was for a school project and she liked that we are trying to save bags. To make sure that I remembered to use my bag I put it in my purse so I would not forget it.

Bag used at Best Buy.

On Saturday October 16, 2010, there was a trip to Best buy where I got a DVD. The clerk asked if I needed a bag and being polite i gave him the answer "no". The DVD along with the receipt and put into the bag I made. By doing this I saved a bag he would have gave me. Me and my dad walked out the store, into the car, and then we left the store and off to the next place we had to go. It was an awesome day getting the DVD and going to Best buy is always fun.

Matt C, Bag usage 1st

So I went to grocery store with my best- best friend who owes my money about $20 for a half of year. By the way, we went to the store right in front of the town named Normandy, for buying some sodas and snacks. So I get in to the store, have a little argue with my friend about how coke is awesome and sprite is bad, pick up family size doritos and check out. I met my female Latino friend(not girl friend) whom I never seen about 2 years. I never knew she was working in here, what a big surprise. We chat a little while and she slide my debit card. She didn't ask me about plastic bag and just put stuffs in to plastic bag, so I stopped her like "wait my new looking friend, I have my own bag." and show her my gray wrinkled bag. She gave me a strange looking so I think she felt a bit occur, but who knows others feeling. May be she was stunned by the awesomeness of my bag. After that me and my friend went back to my home but others who should have join us were too lazy so we just studied assignments with doritos and sodas.

Hey ! I had to tell the class that every store is not allowing you into the stores with a bag. I dont know if it is a black thing or what. I recently went into a korean grocery store to get some vegetables and  seasonings for my roast that I had planned to cook that night. I wanted to cook dinner for some family that was coming over that night. I was in a great mood that whole day. I told my son that I was going to the store to get some things and I would be right back. I went to this korean store because they have the freshest vegetables and spices. I brought along tmy bag and was stopped at the front door. I told them that I was doing a school project and I wanted to use my bag for carrying my goods. They told me no! I asked how come? They would not give me an answer. So I decided not to give them my business and left. I decided to go to Giants and get my food supplies.MY ROAST WAS BANGING! BANGING! That means it came out great. Gas station

Today I went straight from school to take my girl friend to horseback riding. Since I had not eatten I dropped her off and went to the gas station down the street. after I had gotten what I wanted I started to put the things that I bougth in my bag and the guy there just looked at me like I was on drugs.

I have had a very difficult time trying to get my blog together. I am finally able to blog thanks to Mrs. Budden. Let me tell you about this bag. I have alot to talk about but I will just start with my first experience with it. I went to my neighborhood grocery store with my bag and the cashier asked me why am I walking around with a hand made bag. I told her that I was was doing a school project and trying to use less plastic for the enviroment. She stated to me that she was aware of some green projects that were going on within the store. She wished me good luck and I said thank you. The only problem I had that day was my vinegar bottle cap was not on tight and spilled in the bag. I was walking around the store with a smelly bag. I went to the grocery store with my mom the other day and she has so many of the re-usable bags that she always takes with her. I took mine with me too and together i think we saved about 10 plastic bags.

Atnt Store

So over the weekend i got a new phone, when all was done the salesperson asked if i wanted a bag to put the phone and other accessories in, i said, "no i have a bag right here" , being a korean salesmen he gave me the what in the world look; i said," thank you" and left.

Brittany - Saved a bag at Banana Republic

I went to Banana Republic yesterday to return/exchange an item I had ordered online.  To make sure that I remembered to use a re-usable bag I put the items that I wanted to return in a reusable bag to bring them into the store.  I found a few other things while I was there and was able to use my reusable bag instead of a disposable one to take everything home in.  I think carrying my reusable bag is more comfortable than a traditional shopping bag that I get from most stores.  The handles on my reusable bag don't hurt like the handles on disposable plastic bags.

I used my bag at the grocery store Tuesday October 5th, and i used it to carry dog food. The story i used my bag was Eddie's. My dad and I loaded the three cans of dog food into the bag i had and we bought some other products and left the store.

Julia saved a bag at Old Navy on 10/2/10!

When I got to the cashier to ring up my items, the lady asked me if I needed a bag and I said no. I saved a bag! :) I remembered to use my bag because I had left it in my car so when I got out and saw it through the window, I though I should use it. I felt a little weird when I told the lady that I had my own bag, but she did not mind. It was easy because I had the bag in my car and then i put it in my purse and used it when I checked out.

Dollar Store

Today I went to the dollar store because I needed food, drinks, and soap. when I went to pay they asked if I needed a bag and I was like hold on, I left my bag in the car. I ran out to my car and got my bag. When I came back in I put my things in my bag and went home happy.

cvs

I went to cvs today because i ran out of blank cd's, and notebook paper, so i went to cvs with my mickey mouse bag and people were just staring at me like i was crazy or something, i went to pick out my blank cd's and i bought some candy and arizona ice tea, when the nice cashier lady asked if i needed bags i showed her my mickey mouse bag and said no.... thats when i noticed i went to cvs and forgot the notebook paper after i got home so i went back and got the notebook paper and more snacks.. smh..

Branden CVS

Today I had went to cvs to go buy some notecards and some blank cd's. When I got to the cashier they ranged up my items and the lady askedme if i needed a bag and i said no. I saved another bag.

Karen - Yay Target!

My bestfriend and I were going to target because she said she wanted some candy. She got three other things because she's just can't buy one thing, so when the cashier asked if she needed a bag I said that she didn't need it because I already had one. Yes, they thought that I was crazy just having a bright green bag with me but I got to save a huge bag (I don't even know why he was going to give us that big of a bag if it was only four small things.). Yay target for understanding =)

Gamestop

Today i toke my little brother to gamestop to buy a game. They asked if we needed a bag and i said "no". I put the game in the bag that we created and we went home.

Fort Meade shopping

I was at Fort Meade this weekend for shopping.I used two reusable bags to carry my the cloths i bought.Most of the soldiers i met at the told me they will be doing the same thing

Brittany - Saved four bags at Mom's Organic Market

I went grocery shopping on Saturday at Mom's Organic Market in Jessup and I used 4 reusable bags to carry my groceries.  The store gave me 40 cents off my groceries for not using disposable bags; 10 cents off per reusable bag.  When I got home from the store, I really enjoyed not having disposable bags to recycle or throw away.  I didn't receive any reaction from the store employees in response to using reusable bags.  I think a lot of people who shop at this store use reusable bags so it was very normal for me to do so as well.
